LAst Saturday Aaron, my mom and I took Addy to her first concert. Of course, it was Third Day, as it seems they are the only band I go see any more. We saw them twice last year, here and here. Tenth Avenue North opened for them and it couldn't have been a better concert. The guys from Tenth Avenue North blew me away yet again and I think I cried with every song they sang. They are so wise and know how to put on a great show.
And Third Day... They are just love and are totally amazing. They played for over two hours and took requests from the crowd. They ended up playing Free Bird. So. Funny.
Addy did really well all the way up to the first couple songs Third Day played and then she was done. She thought the head phones and ear plugs felt too funny and just wanted to go home. That said, every time she heard a song she knew she just lit up and sang along. So, then I cried more. Seeing this little girl sing to Jesus might be the best parenting moment so far. Wow.
We were at the Adler Theatre and the concert was about 3/4ths full. We ended up hanging out up on the balcony as far back as we could. When it got really late, Aaron and I took turns playing with Addy in the stairwell. She got to play animals, we got to listen to some live music and worship Jesus. It was an amazing night.
